Deadlift and Squat for teenagers.
I am sorry if there is already such tread or this isn't the place for it.

I am practicing as a strength trainer, but i don't have much experience with kids bellow 15 years .

So i want to ask is there any risks for 12 and above years old kids to practice deadlifts or squats?
I mean risks for their intervertebral disks and vertebrae.

I don't have a video, but the form is good and the weight is 30 kilograms, done rather easy for 2 reps.

My student is 12 years age old and i think this is save for him and he has a good form in both movements.
I want a second opinion and explanation.

Re: Deadlift and Squat for teenagers.
Hi,

Here is the position stand from the Australian strength and conditioning association:

http://www.strengthandconditioning.org/images/PositionStand/asca%20position%20stand%20resistance%20training%20for%20children%20and%20youth%20nov%202007%20-%20final.pdf

Here is the position stand from the national strength and conditioning association:

http://www.maclay.org/cms/lib7/FL02000916/Centricity/Domain/26/Position%20Stand%20Youth%20Resistance%20Training.pdf

That should give you enough information to adapt your training with youth and adolescents.
