Dear Prof Verkhoshansky,
I am a newly qualified physiotherapist and in pursuit of my Strengthening and Conditoning Specialist Certification as i believe these two go hand in hand. First and foremost i must admit that i have not read your Special Strength Book as of yet as I am still working my way through Supertraining however I will be buying this book when the second edition is released.
My question to you is do you have any pereference in rehabilitating athlethes in terms of strength? The majority of my colleagues will rehab in terms of 3 sets of 10 which i totally disagree with now. I believe in rehabbing the particular need of the athlete, eg muscular hypertrophy if muscle wasting has occured, strength if required and this is reflected in my sets and reps precribed and loads used in pain free ranges.
I would love your opinion on this as i think it is a really important point that physiotherapists are not educated enough in terms of their exercise prescriptions. Thanks for your time i tryuly appreciate it.
