I am writing to extend my deepest sympathies to Professor Verkhoshansky's family and friends. I was so very sad to hear about his death, he was such a great scientist, innovator and teacher. Even though his time was very limited, he took time to answer questions and share his expertise.
I had the honour and pleasure to learn from Professor Verkhoshansky. I'm a great fan of his books and articles, and was happy for the chance to communicate with him when he started this forum.
I will never forget what I have learned from him.
Professor Verkhoshansky and his family are in my thoughts and prayers.
