Proper landing in the depth jump

Dear Prof. Verkhoshansky,

To prevent the knee from handling too much stress, what is the proper way to land in the depth jump before the "rebound" jump? Should you hit first with your heals and roll through the foot, or stay on the balls of your feet the whole time?

Thank you very much

Graham

Re: Proper landing in the depth jump

Dear Graham,

to prevent the knee from handling too much stress, you have to lend “springy”: the forward part of foots must hit the floor before the heels. The following amortisation phase (“from tiptoe to heel”) assures the absorbing of the lending chock.
